Toni Garlock

VCHWF Trustee

I am really pleased to be a newly appointed trustee on the Vulcan County Health & Wellness Foundation. My husband Ken and I moved to Vulcan in 1992 and lived in town for approximately 10 years while raising our three boys. I developed a really strong sense of community in Vulcan and an affiliation with the community, as I served on many boards and volunteered with several organizations, including the Rainbow Literacy Society and Windsong Child and Family Services.

Although employment in Medicine Hat took us away from the community for several years, we continued to maintain a connection to Vulcan County through our property at Little Bow Resort. We are now full-time residents at Little Bow Resort and are glad to be back living in the community.

I received my BEd from the University of Calgary and my MEd from the University of Lethbridge. My background in education lends itself to the promotion of health and wellness in our community. I also believe that access to timely, necessary health care is critical to each of us, and our families when we need it.

I am excited to become a part of such a forward-thinking and dedicated group of people. I am amazed at what the foundation has accomplished to date and am looking forward to assisting the other members of the foundation to continue to set and achieve goals that will positively impact residents of the Vulcan County community for many years to come.
