Barbara Moore Coffey

Barbara Moore Coffey has had the opportunity to have volunteered and worked for many multidisciplinary organizations for which she had the opportunity to contribute to. She has worked closely and collaborated with diverse cultures, organizations and multidisciplinary core directorate of board members, affiliates, and organizations in community building projects, events, and conferences. 

With her current position as the Executive Director with Rainbow Literacy and Learning Society she has gained valuable management and leadership skills through envisioning, implementing, and overseeing the ins and outs of strategic planning, creating and developing budgets (financial planning), funding, fundraising through grants and event planning, program development, special projects and events/conferences which required a high degree of independent planning, time management, as well as interpersonal communication and collaboration.

Barbara also has a diverse knowledge of the arts and understands the demands and temperaments within. As a former Principal Dancer with Alberta Ballet for 15 years; she continues to share the love of this art form through teaching for the past 22 years.

With her commitment to new challenges, her positive outgoing nature, and her resourceful and creative approach to leadership she took on her new role of Councilor with the Town of Vulcan in October of 2021.
