Dwayne Hill

Ambassador- Town of Vulcan Appointee

This is my third term as a Council Member for the Town of Vulcan. I completed two 3-year terms; now this term is 4 years.

I moved to Vulcan in late November of 1997. At the time of the move, I was employed by Canadian Western Natural Gas, which was rebranded as ATCO Gas.

I retired from ATCO Gas on January 31, 2014, after 36 years of service.

I was 57 years old. Too young to stop work altogether. So, onto the next chapter of my career, I started my own furnace repair company. My company has grown beyond just a furnace repair company. I now work with two other people who have helped me take this business to the next level.

This is all because of the fantastic support I have received from the residents of this great area.

I have volunteered in the past for various organizations, such as Vulcan Golf Course and the Vulcan and District Chamber of Commerce, for which I served as chairperson for a period of time.

I have provided fire training to many fire departments in southern Alberta, locally, Arrowwood Fire Department, Milo and District Fire Department, Lomond Fire Department, Vulcan Fire Department, Champion Fire Department and Carmangay Fire Department. I am still involved with Vulcan and District Fire Department Station 27.

At the Town of Vulcan organizational meeting, I asked for this appointment because of the work Vulcan County Health and Wellness has completed over the years.

I look forward to working, learning, and providing input to support the fantastic work this foundation has done for our community.
